SuperCare is searching for an experienced Team Leader to manage operations at a beautiful new residential children's home in Ilford. The successful candidate will need the ability to adapt, as the role requires responsive and successful navigation of evolving demands.
The successful candidate will also need to be responsible as a member of the staff team to lead a shift, formulate support plans with young people, and construct packages of support to meet their needs. The role involves direct day-to-day support and promoting young people's physical, emotional, and social welfare; encouraging their capacity to take responsibility and act responsibly towards others, in accordance with the Children Act 1989.
Main Duties
1. Direct work with young people, key working, and actively providing support and care on a shift basis.
2. Working in partnership with young people, their social workers, carers, and other relevant agencies. To coordinate, monitor, and review Care Plans, risk assessments, and placement plans for all allocated young people, preparing them for positive transitions and greater independence.
3. Taking responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment regarding health and safety, primary care issues, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior during shifts.
4. Performing administrative work and record-keeping related to key working responsibilities and the daily operation of the home.
5. Ensuring young people are informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning their lives, supporting them, and helping them take greater control and responsibility.
Household Responsibilities
1. Sharing practical activities necessary to maintain the house.
2. Caring for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
3. Being accountable for allocated funds.
4. Reporting repairs and ensuring necessary actions are taken.
5. Ensuring young people eat healthy, balanced meals prepared by staff.
6. Completing health and safety checks in line with policies and Ofsted standards.
Personal Development
1. Keeping abreast of good practice to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in line with a personal development plan.
2. Utilizing regular professional supervision.
3. Reporting malpractice or evidence suggesting concerns to a line manager or appropriate person.
