Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated, empathetic, and adaptable Personal Assistant to support a gentleman living with a range of physical and mental health challenges, including Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) – a condition that causes severe reactions to everyday chemicals and scented products.
This is a rewarding and varied role for someone who can provide both practical support and compassionate care, while maintaining a clean, chemical‑free environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Assisting with getting out of bed, personal hygiene, and dressing
* Preparing and cooking meals
* Changing and washing bedding and laundry
* Keeping the home clean, tidy, and fragrance‑free
* Assisting with food shopping
* Helping to order and potentially collect medication
* Accompanying him to hospital and GP appointments (when possible)
* Providing companionship and emotional support as needed
* Being open to additional tasks as his needs evolve
Specific Requirements
Ideal Candidate:
* Empathetic, patient, and emotionally intelligent
* Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs
* Willing to learn about and strictly adhere to MCS‑safe practices
* Non‑smoker strongly preferred
* Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy
* Experience with complex health needs (physical and emotional) is a bonus but not essential if you are willing to learn

Important Note on Chemical Sensitivity:
The gentleman has an extreme allergy and sensitivity to chemicals found in many common household and personal care products. This includes (but is not limited to) any item containing fragrance/perfume, paints, chlorine‑based products, disinfectants, laundry powders, fabric softeners, etc. No scented products can be used or brought into the environment.
