Role summary
A fantastic role for an Advanced Practitioner within Physiotherapy. You will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist setting, managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge. You will introduce new approaches to physiotherapy access and processes, increasing the focus on health promotion and self-management. You will provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers within and outside the service, liaising with and referring to other social and health services to deliver comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes.
Clinical governance and service development
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice and quality assurance in the service area in conjunction with the care group lead, implementing research, audits and developing a service that responds to national initiatives, policies and clinical governance.
Location
NHSL Lanarkshire, based at FNC+ within Kirklands – NHSL Headquarters. The working pattern is a 7-day rota (as stated in the post).
What we’ll need you to have
* Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
* Post-graduate expertise within specialty/area of practice demonstrating leadership and breadth of knowledge
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty
* Advanced specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures for the specialty
* Evidence of application of advanced practice skills and clinical judgement
* Evidence of leadership or management experience
* Continued professional development in the area of specialty
* Excellent team-working, leadership, communication and time-management skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Driver with full UK/EU/EEA licence

Contract and working pattern
Contract type: Fixed Term until 31/03/2026. Full time, 37 hours. This is a fixed-term post; where a post has temporary funding and current NHS Lanarkshire staff apply, this may be treated as a secondment. The employee must have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying.
