📍 Location: County Hall, Exeter (other Devon County Council offices across Devon considered)
🕘 Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
💷 Pay Rate: Up to £36.00 per hour (DoE) - Umbrella
📅 Start Date: From 1st October
🌈 About the Role
We're looking for passionate and dedicated Children's Social Workers to join our friendly Kinship Assessment Team within Devon County Council. This is your opportunity to make a real difference for children, young people, and families across Devon.
In this rewarding role, you'll complete kinship and fostering assessments, prepare reports for Court and Fostering Panels, and support carers throughout their approval journey. You'll play a vital part in shaping permanent, safe, and supportive futures for children.
💡 What You'll Be Doing
* ✅ Undertake high-quality kinship and fostering assessments in line with statutory and regulatory frameworks.
* 📝 Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for Court and Fostering Panels.
* 🤝 Provide supervision, support, and guidance to kinship carers throughout the assessment and temporary approval process.
* 🌍 Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
* 💬 Champion restorative and relationship-based practice, promoting learning and reflection within the team.
* 📚 Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with Devon County Council's policies.
🌟 What We're Looking For
* 🎓 A recognised Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW).
* 🪪 Registered with Social Work England.
* 📅 Completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
* 👨👩👧👦 Experience within children's social care, especially in fostering, kinship, or assessment roles.
* 📘 Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and frameworks (Children Act 1989, Fostering Regulations, etc.).
* ✍️ Excellent report writing, communication, and planning skills.
* 🚗 A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
