Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, urgent care facilities, and outpatient clinics. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and conducting intake assessments.
* Support medical staff with administrative duties including managing electronic health records (EHR) and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
* Provide direct patient care in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency medicine environments.
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients across different specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and surgical services.
* Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in the assessment and treatment of patients.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices in medication administration and patient handling.
* Engage with patients to provide exceptional service and support throughout their healthcare journey.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with hospital medicine, urgent care, or clinic experience is a plus.
* Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of ICD coding is essential.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma care are advantageous.
* Knowledge of EHR systems for efficient patient management and documentation.
* Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
