Quality Assurance Engineer / Auditor – EPCm Projects
Location: UK (with potential site and supplier visits)
Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-Term (36 months)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer/Auditor to join our project delivery team on a major UK infrastructure programme. This is a key position responsible for maintaining quality standards across all phases of engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm).
This role offers a unique opportunity to play a vital part in one of the UK's leading low-carbon infrastructure developments. You will contribute directly to a nationally significant project designed to support the UK’s transition to net zero.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Execution
* Plan, schedule, and lead internal and external audits.
* Verify compliance with project specifications, contractual obligations, and quality management systems.
Contractual Compliance
* Interpret and apply project-specific quality requirements throughout all project phases.
Documentation Review
* Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans, and supplier quality records for compliance and adequacy.
Non-Conformance Management
* Identify and document non-conformances.
* Lead root cause analysis and coordinate corrective/preventive action plans.
Root Cause Analysis
* Apply systematic, evidence-based methods to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
* Engage stakeholders and subject matter experts as part of a collaborative problem-solving process.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality standards are fully understood and implemented.
Reporting
* Maintain audit tracking systems.
* Deliver clear and insightful reports, quality metrics, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
* Drive quality improvements based on audit outcomes and best industry practices.
* Champion initiatives such as Right First Time and defect prevention techniques.
Requirements
Essential:
* HNC in Welding and Fabrication or a related engineering discipline.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality assurance and auditing within an EPCm project environment.
* In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 19011 auditing guidelines.
* Recognised ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
* Demonstrated experience leading audits and audit teams.
* Strong understanding of engineering and procurement documentation workflows.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
* Experience in quality engineering on large-scale infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
* Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
* Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial sectors.
* Familiarity with quality management software.
* Registered Auditor or Lead Auditor status.
* Ability to manage multiple interfaces and work independently.
