This is your opportunity to make a real impact! We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Shift Engineer to join our operations team at our Grimsby site. You’ll be playing a crucial role in maintaining the performance of production equipment and ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient manufacturing processes.
Location: On-site at Grimsby
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days or Nights)
Hours: 06:00 – 18:00 / 18:00 – 06:00
What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
1. Rapidly respond to breakdowns and carry out planned maintenance tasks.
2. Investigate root causes of failures and develop effective action plans.
3. Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
4. Deliver training and support to production teams for minor maintenance.
5. Collaborate across departments (Production, Technical, NPD, etc.).
6. Promote a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
7. Drive performance by minimising downtime and ensuring optimum plant availability.
8. Maintain accurate documentation for all maintenance and engineering tasks.
9. Participate in maintenance projects, upgrades, and service improvements.
10. Demonstrate efficient machine operation and support operator training.
What You’ll Need (Skills & Experience):
11. Relevant Engineering qualifications – Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
12. FMCG industry experience is highly desirable.
13. Confident with PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
14. Familiar with HACCP and Health & Safety practices.
15. Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office proficiency essential.
16. Great communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
17. Self-motivated, hands-on, and solutions-focused.
18. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and varying temperatures.
19. Flexibility to travel to other sites or suppliers if required.
