Senior Legal Advisor
The Senior Legal Advisor - Bupa Global Insurance will be a key part of the Bupa Global Legal team with responsibility for the provision of strategic commercial and regulatory legal advice to ensure the effective management of legal risk to underpin delivery of the Bupa Global Business Unit strategy and Bupa’s purpose in accordance with our values.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as a business partner by providing expert legal and commercial support to stakeholders in Bupa Global Business Unit to help achieve its commercial goals aligned with Bupa’s strategy and risk appetite.
* Provide advice and support to the Business Unit in drafting and negotiating agreements including third‑party distribution agreements, reinsurance and retrocession agreements, and agreements for the provision by corporate clients of international private medical insurance.
* Work closely with stakeholders to deliver effective support and advice in RFI, RFP and competitive tender processes.
* Serve as an escalation point for complex technical legal queries, ensuring their effective, timely and commercially sound resolution.
* Handle a wide range of “business as usual” requests.
* Keep up to date with external best practice and developments in law and regulation to maintain knowledge and drive continuous improvement.
* Ensure that appropriate procedures are in place to provide the business with adequate advance notice of changes in law and regulation and an understanding of the commercial implications of such changes.
What We’re Looking For
* A qualified lawyer with exceptional commercial awareness and knowledge of data protection, information security and IP law.
* Understanding of the regulatory landscape and risk profile concerning insurance distribution.
* Experience drafting and negotiating customer‑facing agreements, including in relation to the provision of healthcare benefits.
* Strong drafting and negotiating skills with a high attention to detail, tenacity, critical thinking and excellent analytical skills.
* Exceptional commercial awareness, ability to build credibility with business stakeholders, influence outcomes and provide practical solutions.
* Experience making risk‑based decisions in a complex operating environment with competing demands; balance commercial and contractual mechanisms to manage risks.
* Understanding of distribution channels and arrangements – strongly preferred.
