As a Treasury Analyst at ScottishPower, you will play a central role in supporting our ability to deliver a cleaner, greener and more resilient energy future.
This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, curious, and thrives in a fastpaced corporate treasury environment.
In this role, you will deliver accurate cash flow forecasting across multiple entities, manage daily cash positioning, and support the efficient deployment of cash to minimise borrowing and maximise value.
You'll work closely with finance teams, maintain strong relationships with banking partners, and ensure adherence to treasury policies and controls.
You will also provide cover for FX trading and the preparation of guarantees, support treasury reporting and KPI tracking, and contribute to ongoing system and process improvements within a strong regulatory and audit framework.
What You'll Be Doing
Cash Flow Forecasting
Prepare short-term and medium-term cash flow forecasts across multiple entities
Monitor variances between forecast and actuals, providing analysis and recommendations
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate input of data and variance analysis
Cash Management
Manage daily cash positioning and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs
Optimise use of surplus cash and minimize borrowing costs
Maintain relationships with banking partners
Support compliance with internal controls and treasury policies
FX Trading & Guarantees (Cover Role)
Execute FX trades in line with approved policies when required
Monitor FX exposures and assist in hedging strategies
Prepare and process bank guarantees and letters of credit as required
Other Duties
Assist with treasury reporting and KPI tracking
Support treasury systems and process improvements
Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
What You'll Bring
Degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or a related discipline preferred
Experience in treasury, finance, banking or accounting (corporate treasury experience desirable but not essential)
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
High proficiency in Excel and data analysis
A proactive, solutions focused mindset
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Commitment to ongoing learning and an interest in deepening treasury expertise
Minimum Criteria
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business or a related discipline
Understanding of cash management processes, bank account operations, and liquidity principles
Basic understanding of FX markets, exposures, and trading mechanics (training can be provided)
High proficiency in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)
High level of integrity, reliability, and accountability
