Competitive Salary + Benefits

A leading UK planning and design consultancy group is seeking a Rural Surveyor to join their East of England office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of rural, agricultural, and land-based projects across multiple offices, supporting clients with strategic property and development advice.

About the Group

The business forms part of a wider network of planning, design, and property specialists, delivering high-quality, evidence-led advice across a wide range of sectors. They support landowners, estates, developers, and public sector clients from initial feasibility through to delivery—covering planning, rural property management, development strategy, and environmental considerations.

The Role

As a Rural Surveyor, you will provide professional advice on rural property, agricultural development, and land management matters. You will work closely with landowners and rural businesses, supporting diversification projects, development opportunities, and the optimisation of land assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice to landowners and rural clients on land use, development, and diversification opportunities
• Undertake agricultural and rural property assessments to support planning and development proposals
• Advise on farm business operations, estate management, and rural asset optimisation
• Support and coordinate planning applications alongside in-house planning specialists
• Prepare reports, appraisals, and feasibility assessments for a range of rural developments
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes

Requirements

• Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) or working towards chartership
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience within a rural surveying or rural consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of agricultural land use, rural property, and farm business operations
• Experience advising landowners, estates, and rural businesses
• Ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality professional advice
• Knowledge of the planning system as it relates to rural and agricultural development

Why Apply?

• Join a respected and collaborative professional network with offices across the UK
• Work on diverse rural, agricultural, and land-based projects
• Be part of a growing business with strong cross-disciplinary expertise
• Competitive salary and benefits package
