Purpose of the job

The Integrity Engineer Asset Focal Point is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective execution of integrity engineering for a specified Offshore Installation. The role provides assurance to onshore and offshore personnel to ensure legislation and company Integrity Management policies are implemented and complied with, and works with the Asset management On and Offshore team to monitor and review the integrity management of assess, inspect and repair performance as a contributory factor to the Client’s responsibility in the Management of Major Accident Hazards.


Characterization

The position proactively manages, coordinates and provides input to contribute to the ongoing suitability of the asset in meeting the requirements of the Offshore Installation (Safety Case) Regulations 2005 (SCR05). The role includes project managing, implementing and monitoring integrity risk management, fitness-for-purpose assessments, anomaly management relating to pressure, structural and subsea pipeline equipment, and prioritizing and defining inspection NDT services. It also ensures that discipline engineers operate within their competence remit and offshore inspection engineers fulfil their assurance role to produce robust inspection processes.


Dimensions

Acts as Asset Focal Point for Altrad Integrity Contracts.

Ensures all activities are completed in compliance with HSE legislation, Altrad processes and procedures.


Result areas

* Key Integrity Focal Point for the Client for a specified Offshore Asset.
* Prepare, enact, monitor and verify the integrity management systems for the area of responsibility.
* Champion the importance of enacting integrity management systems.
* Lead to ensure asset integrity is not compromised.
* Introduce a proactive approach to improve asset integrity management.
* Coordinate activities with technical authorities.
* Maintain awareness of integrity history and apply lessons learned.
* Manage fitness-for-purpose assessments, anomaly management and pressure equipment integrity programme.
* Coordinate strategy implementation.
* Communicate appropriateness of remedial actions to legislative requirements and implement actions.
* Champion interface management to align accountability with roles and responsibilities.
* Ensure relevant processes and procedures are followed by the incumbent, discipline engineers and OIEs.
* Custodian of the IQ process and registers for anomaly management, managing continuous improvement.
* Co‑ordinate offshore inspection engineers through day‑to‑day and periodic correspondence.
* Monitor QA/QC of inspection reports to keep the live RBA system updated.
* Provide integrity input to new projects as required.

Result: Ensure that integrity management systems and processes meet client expectations and align with business aims.


Reporting & Compliance

* Delivery to Client and Industry Best Practice Expectations of Asset Annual Integrity Status report through the coordination of deliverables from discipline engineers and OIEs.
* Support personnel in statutory and regulatory responsibilities, including preparation of end‑of‑year reports and compliance documentation.
* Review KPIs and ensure they are achieved and reported.
* Contribute to the development of quality standards and meet regulatory requirements.
* Arrange and/or perform post‑incident audits as required.
* Maintain a historical record of integrity‑related issues (action tracking).
* Report monthly the Integrity Status related to fitness‑for‑purpose assessments, anomaly management and pressure‑equipment integrity programme, prioritising cumulative risk related to Process Safety Management techniques.

Result: Ensure processes and systems follow regulatory requirements to meet quality standards and functional objectives.

Skills


Education


Essential

* Degree qualified in an appropriate Engineering Discipline.


Desirable

* Chartered member of an Engineering Institute with experience.


Experience


Essential

* Project manager knowledge of process safety & prioritisation, technical safety, risk‑based inspection NDT services, fitness‑for‑purpose assessments, RBA, release reduction in hydrocarbon leaks and anomaly management.
* Understanding of the Management of Major Accident Hazards and the Offshore Installation (Safety Case) Regulations 2005 (SCR05).
* Technical knowledge of pressure, structural and subsea pipeline equipment.
* Experience in integrity disciplines covering inspection, corrosion control and mitigation within oil & gas production, chemical treatment, protective coatings, cathodic protection, sour service material selection and non‑destructive techniques.
* Strong communication skills, team motivation, technical report writing, ability to work to tight deadlines and adaptability.
* Experience as Client Focal Point for related projects.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry guidance & best practice.
* Working knowledge of MS Office products.


Desirable

* Auditor experience and knowledge of management systems.
* QA/QC experience.
* Active membership in industry bodies such as Step Change in Safety, Oil & Gas UK forums, Energy Institute.
* Technical competencies in international codes and standards including ASME, API, DNV and BS.
* Thorough knowledge of RBA/I principles and industry codes.
* Extensive experience in engineering technical terms and their application.


Additional Requirements

* Driving licence required (desirable).
* Offshore travel required: Yes.
* Frequency of trips: once per quarter.
