This job is with Capgemini, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. Please do not contact the recruiter directly. Your roleThe ER&D UK Practice is seeking a Staffing Manager to collaboratively manage the dynamic allocation of engineering resources across the UK and other countries, ensuring the right capability is in the right place at the right time. In this role, you will work closely with Country Leaders, Global Practice staffing managers, Engineers, Talent Acquisition, Sales, Delivery and Procurement to maximise productivity and meet business demand. You will be responsible for optimising the deployment of both permanent and contingent engineers within the UK Practice, supporting efficient, informed, and agile resourcing decisions.
Ensure "Right capability, Right place, Right time" (R3) across multiple Engineering Units by aligning capability supply with demand, addressing skills gaps through upskilling, reskilling and effective rotation planning.
Act as a key business partner to Engineering Unit Directors, optimising the use of all supply channels—including internal talent, recruitment, contingent workforce and offshoring—to meet resourcing demands.
Maintain high-quality data and reporting on allocations, bench, rotation, attrition and grade pyramids, ensuring accurate insight for weekly, monthly and annual forecasting.
Optimise resource utilisation by managing bench effectively, maintaining up-to-date CVs and skills maps, and supporting project pyramid structures to ensure the best mix of skills.
Your profile
You will be people and action oriented; you must have resilience and be keen to build relationships to ensure effectiveness.
An understanding for how projects work and how to deploy resources to deliver the projects is essential.
You must be comfortable making decisions within an environment that presents uncertainty and pressure – allocations are achieved through collaboration but ultimately it is the Staffing Managers decision and responsibility.
You must be as keen to address upskilling of engineers as to capture the data required to report on and monitor R3.
You will have managed capability and have a means of showing capability growth.
You can demonstrate an ability to understand the characteristics of an engineering role.
