High-Spec Commercial, Healthcare & Light Industrial Construction & Fit Out Projects | UK
We're partnering with a growing, ambitious Principal Contractor delivering high-quality Construction & Fit Out projects across the Commercial Office, Healthcare & Light Industrial sectors.
With significant growth plans underway, they're looking to appoint a Construction Director to work alongside the Managing Director & play a pivotal role in shaping both project delivery & long-term business strategy.
The Opportunity:
This is a hands-on leadership role with real influence.
As Construction Director, you'll:
* Lead day-to-day construction operations across multiple live projects
* Develop & execute project delivery strategies that protect margin & drive profitability
* Oversee budgets, cost control, project resourcing & logistics
* Manage & develop a high-performing team of Contract & Project Managers
* Set clear targets, KPIs & accountability across the delivery function
* Act as senior client interface, building long-term, trusted relationships
* Resolve contractual issues & mitigate commercial risk with Commercial Director
* Work closely with the Bid & Tender team to secure new opportunities
* Partner with the MD to develop and implement the company's strategic growth plan
* Lead on client relations
This role combines operational excellence with strategic leadership.
About You:
We're looking for someone currently working as:
* Construction Director
* Head of Construction
* Contracts Director / Senior Contracts Manager
* Senior Operations Manager / Director
You will:
* Come from a Principal or Main Contractor background
* Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and P&L awareness
* Be an exceptional client manager with gravitas at board level
* Have delivered Commercial Office and/or Light Industrial construction projects in the UK
* Bring a strategic mindset alongside hands-on delivery capability
Package
* £110,000 – £140,000 base (DOE)
