Are you passionate about giving children the healthiest and best start in life? We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic early years or education practitioner to join our team in the newly-created Healthy Child Co-ordinator role.
In this key role, you will co-ordinate, promote and oversee the Food and Fun programme on behalf of Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) as well as manage the Healthy and Sustainable Preschool Scheme across the county of Bridgend. The role also involves working closely with local partners to promote and support key public health messages aimed at early years children and their families.
We're looking for someone who brings a strong understanding providing children with a healthy start in their early years, as well as experience of project co-ordination. If you are a great communicator, proactive and thrive in partnership working we would love to hear from you.
To succeed in this role you will need:
To be educated to degree level or with equivalent and relevant experience in an education, early years or public health setting.
Programme management experience, with the ability to coordinate, implement and evaluate multiple programmes simultaneously.
To be a passionate advocate for children's health and wellbeing.
Ability to form constructive working relationships with colleagues in own and other agencies.
Be able to demonstrable commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Show strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
Evidence excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
Be creative, proactive and have a solution-focused approach to work.
Please note:
This post will require availability during the first three weeks of the school summer holidays to support the delivery of the Food and Fun programme. The role provides the opportunity to work flexibly in line with the requirements of the service. As a home working element is offered as part of this role, you will need to ensure you are equipped with a reliable internet connection. Applicants should also be aware that this post will require travel throughout Bridgend and therefore a valid driving licence and sole use of a car are a requirement of appointment.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
