We are a 37 bedded unit acute general surgical unit specialising in colorectal and urology.

This post is a permanent, full time position with the expectation that you would rotate between days, nights and weekends.
* Provide personal care for patients including bathing, assisting with toileting, feeding and care in the last days of life
* Works in accordance to the Trust policies and procedures
* Provides support/ guidance to new starters and others as appropriate
* Assists the registered nurses in administering direct patient care
* Informs registered nurses of changes in patients' condition or observations.
* Prioritise own workload
* Acts as escort and chaperone as required
* Communicates with patients/ carers/ relatives considering patients individual needs.
* Assist in keeping ward area clean and tidy and complies with infection control policy.
* Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of essential ward equipment.
* Undertakes some clerical duties such as answering telephone, greeting new patients, filing.
