Role Overview
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Fitness Assistant to join our team at Hamilton Water Palace. The successful applicant will support customers on their fitness journey, building rapport quickly to engage and educate them on the latest fitness trends and support the clients through their training while ensuring that the gym is kept clean and tidy.
Job Details
* Location: South Lanarkshire Lifestyles Eastfield, Glenside Drive, Glasgow
* Hours: 25.125 hours per week
* Shift Pattern: 2‑Week Shift Pattern (Week 1: Monday 9am‑3pm, Wednesday, Thursday 2pm‑9:15pm, Friday 10am‑3pm; Week 2: Monday 9am‑2pm, Thursday 2:30pm‑9:15pm, Saturday, Sunday 8am‑4:30pm)
* Salary Band: £14.12 – £14.27 per hour
* Duration: Fixed Term until 31 March 2027
* Number of Posts: 1
Responsibilities
* Assist customers with their fitness journeys and provide ongoing training support.
* Engage customers by building rapport and educating them on the latest fitness trends.
* Maintain a clean and tidy gym environment.
Qualifications
* Hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, a relevant HNC or equivalent.
* Excellent interpersonal and interaction skills.
* Experience working in a gym environment is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Availability to work the specified shift pattern.
