Specialising in mechanical and HVAC installations, the business delivers high-quality projects across the healthcare, education, hospitality, and high-end residential sectors. Key clients include several NHS trusts, with a strong pipeline of hospital refurbishments and new fit-out works. Role Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join the in-house pre-construction team. This is a critical role for someone with a background in estimating or a qualified electrician looking to move into a more office-based, technical role. You’ll be working closely with directors, project managers, and the wider commercial team to price and win projects ranging from £250K to £3M in value. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates using Excel and digital take-off software (e.g., Ground Plan) * Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates * Collaborate with the mechanical and electrical estimating and project management teams * Support bid submissions and tender processes * Attend client meetings when required and support early-stage project development * Track market prices and supplier rates to maintain competitive and accurate pricing What We’re Looking For * Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical estimating OR a qualified electrician ready to step into an office-based estimating role * Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical services * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Competent in Microsoft Excel; experience with take-off software such as Ground Plan preferred * Attention to detail and an analytical mindset Perks & Working Environment * Flexible hours: choose between 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM * Work-from-home flexibility: 1 day a week from home if preferred * Join a friendly, ambitious team in a company where your input is valued and you can grow with the business * Access to private healthcare * 31 days’ holiday (including bank holidays)
