Maintenance Technician – Sudbury - £28,000 – £35,000
The Job:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the upkeep and repair of machinery, vehicles, buildings, and site infrastructure across a busy operational site. Reporting to the Repairs and Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime and keeping operations running efficiently.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving both planned and reactive maintenance, as well as supporting wider site operations when required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned servicing, inspections, and reactive repairs on machinery and equipment
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
- Maintaining and repairing vehicles, plant, and site machinery
- Supporting building and structural maintenance across the site
- Assisting with the upkeep of site systems, including heating and infrastructure
- Helping to plan and deliver preventative maintenance schedules
- Sourcing parts and assisting with stock control of maintenance supplies
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing timesheets
- Working closely with other departments to support operational needs
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company policies and legislation
- Using PPE correctly and maintaining a safe working environment
The Candidate:
- Experience in maintenance, mechanical, agricultural, or engineering environments
- Mechanically minded with strong fault-finding ability
- Experience working with machinery, vehicles, or site equipment
- Organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Proactive and problem-solving approach
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Flexible and willing to support wider site operations when needed
The Package:
- Salary: £28,000 – £35,000
- Full-time, permanent role

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
