Job Specification - CAD Technician
Location: Midlands (office-based with flexible working)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented CAD Technician to join the design and engineering team. You will play a key role in producing accurate and compliant drawings to support the design and delivery of multi-utility infrastructure projects, including electricity, water, gas, and fibre networks for residential and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
Produce high-quality CAD drawings and technical schematics for multi-utility networks.
Work from engineers' designs, site surveys, and technical specifications to create compliant drawings.
Prepare "as-built" drawings and update revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all drawings meet company, client, and regulatory standards.
Liaise with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to clarify requirements and resolve design issues.
Maintain drawing registers and file management in line with company procedures.
Support tender submissions and client presentations with CAD outputs.Skills & Experience Required
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D desirable).
Experience in utilities, construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure design preferred.
Understanding of multi-utility networks (electric, gas, water, fibre) desirable.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant qualification in CAD, engineering, or a related discipline (HNC/HND or equivalent).What's on Offer
