Overview
We are looking for an AGL Engineer to join our aviation team based in the UK. The main responsibility for this role is to contribute to the design of the AGL elements of Airfield Engineering projects, covering AGL and Movement Area Guidance (MAG) signage layouts, pit and duct design, cabling design, approach lighting design, PAPI design (including siting calculations), and High Mast Lighting (HML) design, all in accordance with appropriate design standards.
Responsibilities
* Support Senior and Principal Airfield Engineers in the development of Airfield designs for airports in the UK and worldwide.
* Lead or support in a senior capacity in the preparation of AGL and MAG design projects.
* Understand pertinent design standards across Civil and Military domains and their evolution.
* Analyse existing baseline, survey and as-built information.
* Undertake design of AGL and MAG for runways, taxiways, aprons, service roads, etc.
* Assist in the production of Civil 3D Design of AGL and MAG related assets for airfield projects.
* Coordinate AGL designs with other disciplines including pavement engineering, structural engineering, etc.
* Produce specifications for AGL, MAG and HML works.
* Develop feasible, logical and efficient work phasing proposals for construction works.
* Undertake electrical works design and design reviews covering all stages of design.
* Assist in the preparation of methodologies, design proposals, resource estimation, etc. for bids.
* Visit airfields in the UK and overseas to monitor construction works and produce progress reports.
Qualifications
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or a degree that includes elements of Electrical Engineering.
* The right to work in the UK.
* Fluency in English (knowledge of other languages is an advantage).
* Demonstrable professional experience in AGL, MAG and HML design.
