Role Overview
As the Head of Landlord Health & Safety, you will act as Hightown Housing's Health and Safety lead under Section 10 of the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023. Your key duties include monitoring compliance with statutory requirements, providing assurance on landlord health and safety, establishing and maintaining robust safety systems, overseeing large‑scale building safety projects, and arranging health and safety inspections, assessments, testing and servicing.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
* Identify, assess and control health and safety risks.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
* Advise the Executive team and Board on legislative and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure properties meet all statutory health and safety requirements.
* Monitor and report on health and safety performance.
* Provide training and guidance on health and safety matters.
* Investigate accidents and implement preventive measures.
* Ensure contractors adhere to health and safety standards.
* Drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
* Produce health and safety reports for the Health & Safety Consultation Committee.
* Set and manage health and safety budgets.
* Ensure excellent customer service and handle complaints effectively.
* Conduct regular service reviews for continuous improvement.
* Supervise and appraise Managers within the compliance team.
Qualifications
* Essential: NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
* IOSH membership.
* Desirable: Chartered IOSH membership.
