Overview
Barnardo's Young People and Families Team is recruiting a Senior Youth Worker to develop, manage and support youth work services from 'The Base' in North Tyneside. The 128 Service offers targeted, holistic group and 1:1 support for young people aged 10‑18, including LGBTQ+ youth, providing a safe space, weekly peer meetings and activities that build skills and confidence.
Responsibilities
* Develop, manage and support youth work services from 'The Base'.
* Design and deliver safe, inclusive and effective youthwork offers for young people.
* Provide 1:1 and group support to young people aged 10‑18 and LGBTQ+.
* Supervise and lead a youth work team, including line management duties.
* Ensure emotional and practical support is provided in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with other Barnardo's services and community partners to enhance service delivery.
* Work flexibly, including evenings, to meet the needs of the service.
Qualifications
* Experience designing and delivering a youthwork offer for young people.
* Experience and knowledge of managing youth work teams.
* Supervision and line management experience.
* Confidence and creativity in engaging young people aged 10‑18.
* Ability to provide emotional and practical support in line with safeguarding policies.
* Flexibility to work evenings as required.
