Division/Department Sainsbury's Tech / Infra & Tooling Location Working From Home & Store Support Centre Reporting to Senior Head of Technology - Infra & Tooling Directly or indirectly manages A team of 2 Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Planning Leads (C4) Budget No direct budget responsibilities, required to feed requirements into the departmental budget In a nutshell Work with internal support teams & 3 rd parties to ensure annual Disaster Recovery testing is performed and recorded for all critical systems for the whole of the business. Manage, implement and drive continuous improvements, including "out of the box" thinking, to ensure the team continues to grow. Provide support to projects and all levels of management demonstrating governance requirements. Carry out monthly 1-2-1 sessions and end of year reviews with each team member, to monitor performance and development needs. Set goals and objectives which are monitored and discussed in the 1-2-1 sessions. Engage in internal audits when required and agree timescales for any actions. Represent the team in projects that are under a Non-Disclosure Agreement, always ensuring confidentiality. What I am accountable for Responsible and accountable for developing, implementing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure the continuity of service in the event of a disruption. Ensure compliance with the resilience policy and disaster recovery framework through effective testing, operational controls and comprehensive reporting. Manage and lead the disaster recovery team, providing guidance, support, and strengthening disaster recovery capabilities. Ensure risk and control management is kept up to date and alignment to the business processes. Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as requested, for all disaster recovery processes. Lead and support the development of disaster recovery plans. Coordinate, manage and conduct annual disaster recovery testing exercises. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, maximising the use the tools available to strengthen operational resilience. Review Important Business Services to identify any gaps or deficiencies in disaster recovery provision for supporting IT services. Facilitate and support the execution of the plans at the time of a crisis event. Provide advice and support to projects to ensure that new systems meet the required standards. Report the business disaster recovery status to senior management and key stakeholders. What I need to know Essential Strong knowledge of disaster recovery principles, practices, and technologies People management experience Experience in automating disaster recovery management and orchestration (Experience of ServiceNow desirable) Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities Project management, organisation, and communication skills Self-motivated, innovative and keen to learn new skills Assertive personality with good organisational and interpersonal skills Understanding and experience of industry standards relating to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity such as ISO 22301 and ISO 27031 Desirable Proven track record in creating and embedding a modern disaster recovery strategy Experience in the use of ServiceNow Knowledge of Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessments What I need to show Consistently deliver on outcomes and communicate clear plans and goals to others, resolving problems independently Clearly and respectfully speak your mind, invite others to challenge or build on ideas and actively listen Proactively seek to understand the changing business context and work with peers to solve business challenges Regularly review your goals to ensure you are focused on the right things Embrace new ways of doing things without fear of failure, supporting others to do the same Open minded and proactively adapt your approach during times of change, supporting others to deal with unforeseen situations Show curiosity about how the wider business operates Proactively seek feedback from a broad range of colleagues to build a robust development plan.
