What you’ll be doing
You’ll be using your skills and experience to complete repairs works in our properties across Wiltshire.
As a multi skilled technician, you’ll be responsible for the first time fix responsive repairs and minor works within the properties in our private finance initiative. You’ll be working in our customer’s homes so great customer service will be really important to you.
You will come to the role with advanced plumbing expertise, supported by a high level of multi‑trade capability, with the skills to diagnose, plan and complete complex repairs in a single visit wherever practicable. At times you will work as part of a team when perhaps you may need to work with our electrical or gas teams, but you’ll also be happy to work alone to get the job done.
The role will see you complete a variety of repairs and you will be confident in your skills to:
* Repair, replace or clear blockages to all types of domestic drainage systems
* Make safe and installation of cylinders
* Complete plumbing for bathrooms and kitchens, including fitting showers
* Make good boxings and tiling
* Hanging doors, completing architraves and skirtings
* Changing and fitting locks
* UPVC window fitting
About you
You’ll have a plumbing qualification, NVQ or equivalent or demonstrable time-served experience working in a plumbing role. You’ll be able to identify causes and specify materials required to rectify plumbing issues. You will also have additional qualifications, likely to be in carpentry, wet skills and locksmith skills.
Your career will demonstrate substantial experience delivering responsive repairs within occupied properties. You will have knowledge of property maintenance standards and ideally social housing compliance requirements.
You will have advanced fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
You will be a confident IT user, including PDA/field service systems, Microsoft 365 and digital evidence capture.
As you’ll be working in our communities, you will be happy to communicate with both customers and colleagues. You’ll take pride in your customer service and endeavour to first fix at every opportunity.
We will supply a company vehicle to get you around, so you’ll need a full, UK driving licence. You’ll need to be willing and able to take part in an out of hours rota. You’ll also be willing and able to comply with facefit regulations.
