Quality Engineer – High-Impact Role in an advanced Manufacturing Environment
Are you a proactive and hands-on Quality Engineer who thrives in both fast-paced and technically complex environments? This is a rare opportunity to join a unique manufacturing business operating at the intersection of high-volume production and specialist engineering.
With two distinct manufacturing areas – one focused on structured, high-output work and the other on bespoke, customer-critical products – this role is perfect for a Quality Engineer who enjoys variety, visibility, and real influence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll work across both sides of the production process, supporting quality at every stage – from raw material preparation to final machining. You’ll play a key role in:
* Leading root cause investigations, NCRs, and structured problem solving.
* Driving outcome-focused improvements to reduce the cost of quality and increase reliability.
* Supporting audits and external approvals across ISO/BSI standards.
* Enhancing SOP consistency and ensuring process adherence.
* Being a visible presence on the shopfloor and a credible voice in senior-level meetings.
What “Great” Looks Like:
Within your first year, success will be measured by your ability to:
* Build strong communication bridges between shopfloor and leadership.
* Flag and tackle blockers early – with minimal handholding.
* Use structured thinking to support process improvement and training initiatives.
* Champion a proactive quality mindset and preventative approach.
Who We’re Looking For:
This Quality Engineer role suits a self-starter with a strong logical mindset and a passion for improvement. You'll need:
* Proven communication skills from operator to senior level.
* Experience in manufacturing environments, ideally with a blend of high-volume and bespoke products.
* A root cause mindset – able to drive corrective actions with clarity and follow-through.
* Comfort hosting external visitors, audits, and customer inspections.
Backgrounds may vary – you could be degree-qualified in mechanical/materials/composites engineering or a technically brilliant shopfloor professional with real-world experience.
Exposure to marine or aerospace sectors is a bonus due to the customer and compliance environment.
What’s on Offer:
* Salary: £40,000 with flexibility for standout candidates.
* Hours: Flexi-time available with an early start/finish culture.
* Leave: Includes Christmas shutdown and flexible bank holiday arrangements.
* Environment: Supportive, experienced leadership and clear priorities.
If you're a Quality Engineer who loves fixing problems before they happen, enjoys both people and process, and wants to play a visible part in a quality-led journey – we’d love to hear from you.
