Are you looking for a new opportunity with flexible working where you can select shifts to suit you? Do you want to make a difference to people’s lives?

We are currently looking for 2 Casual Relief Support Workers at one of our sites in Bolsover.

This is a job where you will be supporting autistic people with a variety of activities they enjoy and encouraging independent living skills. You will provide holistic support including personal care, medication administration, integration into the local community and managing their anxieties that may be communicated through distressing behaviour.

No experience is necessary; full training is given. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, who shares our values and who we can work with to develop their skills. Experience as a support worker, care assistant, nursery assistant, personal care assistant, or work in the NHS, health care or social care would be advantageous.


Duties and Responsibilities

* Ensure high standards of professional care and practice for service users are established and maintained, providing appropriate attention to independent living, physical, cultural, social, learning, vocational aspiration, recreational and emotional needs.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the setting, mindful of IPC measures.
* Develop positive working relationships with service users, families and team members, knowing your limits and seeking support when required.
* Familiarise with Autism East Midlands systems and processes in delivering high standards of care and support.
* Maintain up‑to‑date, secure and confidential records, adhering to GDPR.
* Liaise with families, the clinical team and external agencies professionally and record appropriately within confidentiality thresholds.
* Develop understanding of autism and implement it in practice.
* Develop understanding of CALM and Positive Behaviour Support and embed within the service.
* Complete all elements of the Care Certificate and mandatory training.
* Access internal IT systems regularly and log incidents on reporting systems.
* Ensure compliance with the service finance procedures.
* Work flexibly as required by the rota and the terms of your contract, and as directed by your manager.
* Communicate effectively within the team to ensure continuity of care.
* Develop understanding of communication methods of those supported.
* Work safely following individual support plans and risk assessments, as well as company policies and procedures.
* Support service users with personal care when required.
* Provide support and assistance in line with individual support plans.
* Adhere to the Autism East Midlands Code of Conduct.
