Offer description

Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £27,000 per annum

On call allowance: 1 x £100 retainer fee for the week of on call plus £60 per each call out attended. (You will be on call approximately once a month)

As the new Service Engineer for the Newport Depot, you will be responsible for covering the Gloucestershire area, reporting to the Newport Depot once every 2 weeks.

The successful candidate must reside within Gloucestershire.

About the role

As the Service Engineer for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing equipment in service users’ homes and in-house.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

* Delivering and collecting disability equipment to service users’ homes, hospitals, and health centres, as necessary.
* Performing multiple service jobs daily, some of which may involve heavy lifting, including beds and other large equipment.
* Providing polite, empathetic, and client-focused service, considering clients’ needs.
* Undertaking risk assessments.
* Using a weight rig to service and maintain hoists, involving some heavy lifting.
* Demonstrating correct functionality and safe installation of items, identifying repairs, and replacing damaged or faulty stock.
* Adhering to scheduled timeslots and liaising with service users if delays occur.
* Being on call on a rotational basis with an enhanced allowance during this period.

Qualifications and experience required

* Ideally 1 year or more experience in a similar role within public, healthcare, or service-based industries.
* Service or maintenance background.
* Full, in-date driving license.
