We're working with a large UK organisation that is investing in the stability, security and resilience of its core IT estate.
They're looking for a Network & Security Manager to take practical ownership of day-to-day network and cyber security operations, leading a small in-house team and working closely with key suppliers.
The role
You'll be responsible for keeping the organisation's networks secure, available and well controlled, while steadily improving security maturity over time.
That includes:
Owning the operational network and security environment across a multi-site organisation
Leading and supporting a small team covering network and security operations
Taking charge during security incidents and service issues, coordinating response and resolution
Working with suppliers, SOC partners and auditors to maintain a strong security baseline
Ensuring security controls, patching and monitoring are in place and working as intended
Supporting audits and assessments, with a practical approach to frameworks like ISO27001, NIST or CIS
Contributing to DR and business continuity planning and testing
This is a hands-on role. You'll be close to the technology, the people running it, and the issues when they arise.
What they're looking for
Solid experience in network and security operations within a medium to large organisation
Comfortable owning incidents, risks and technical decisions
Experience leading or mentoring engineers or analysts
Practical exposure to cyber security frameworks in real environments, not just policy
Experience working with third-party suppliers and managed services
Clear, calm communicator who can work well with both technical teams and non technical stakeholders
Recognised cyber security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CCNP Security or similar would be advantageous
