About the Role
Primary schools across the NP7 area are seeking caring, proactive, and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistants to support children in their early years (Nursery/Reception). This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with young children and contributing to their early learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher within Nursery or Reception classes
Assist children with early phonics, communication, and play‑based learning
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction
Set up and supervise learning activities indoors and outdoors
Provide 1:1 or small‑group support depending on pupil needs
Promote positive behaviour and follow safeguarding procedures
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with young children (desirable)
A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of the EYFS framework (advantageous but not essential)
Level 2/3 TA or childcare qualification welcome but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
