Responsibilities
Design, deliver, and evaluate organisational development and well-being programmes to ensure well-led and managed personnel with the right capabilities, skills, and attitudes.
Assist in the formulation and delivery of cultural initiatives to increase worker engagement and embed values and behaviours supporting the Workforce Strategy.
Deliver and monitor well-being strategies for a safe, healthy, and supportive work environment, enabling workforce potential and maximising attendance.
Lead and develop the Mental Health First Aiders group to support staff well-being across the Council.
Support the staff champion community to ensure full engagement and support for culture change and Workforce Strategy delivery.
Organise team-building, engagement initiatives, and leadership events to embed values and behaviours within the Council.
Lead the corporate induction programme, ensuring alignment with workplace culture, values, and behaviours.
Support the implementation and delivery of worker recognition and performance development review programmes.
Conduct staff surveys, analyse results, and develop plans to address identified issues in collaboration with HR staff.
Support the delivery and evaluation of mentoring and coaching programmes.
Promote the Council’s worker offer and support staff retention and recruitment through participation in careers events.
Collaborate with the wider HR service to share insights on key HR issues and maximise service delivery.
Person Specification
Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is desirable.
Post qualification experience in an HR development setting, delivering culture transformation programmes.
Experience in delivering staff engagement and well-being initiatives.
Knowledge and understanding of management and organisational theory, performance improvement, and cost-benefit analysis.
High degree of interpersonal skills and understanding of organisational development concepts and techniques.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and training tools, with skills to develop effective working relationships.
Ability to analyse information/data, identify trends, write reports, and present information clearly.
Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
Flexible approach to work and willingness to travel throughout the borough.
