You willbe requiredto drive a vehicle to various locations across the county to deliver stock and other items as required. Access to sitesatsomelocationsmay be outside of openinghours,and you willberesponsible forsecurelyopening and closing the building usingkeys and alarm codes. Working closely with another colleague, you willcirculatestock within thetimeframesgiven and sort itemsdailyfor onward movement to the next location. Duties include: Visitinglibraries, community hubs and mobiles bases for delivery/collection of library materials, furniture,equipmentand shop stock In Lincolnshire. Adhere to timetabled routes for daily and extra deliveriestoprovide an efficient,flexibleand reliable service. Security of buildings when accessing outside of library opening hours. Maintainingthe vehicle in a roadworthy condition, carrying out dailychecksand completing a driver logand report any defects found. Observing GLLs accident reporting procedures forvehiclesand other accidents. Always ensuring the security of the van andcontents, particularlyovernight. Ensure theinside of the vehicle is clean and tidy and that all equipment fixed to and travelling in the vehicle is fit for purpose. What you will need: Full Category B Driving Licence Experience of driving in rural areas and within Lincolnshire Awareness of health and safety; particularly manual handling as the role involves considerable movement of stock and other items Experience of working on own and to specificschedule Able to work unsociable hours Good attendance record and excellenttime-keeping/punctuality Ability toquicklysort stockfor delivery to correct locationwithina giventimeframe Ability to communicate effectively with library staff and others in a polite manner.
