SEND Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Budleigh Salterton
Location: Budleigh Salterton, Devon
Pay: £90–£100 per day
Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday, term time only)
Are you a caring and motivated individual looking to make a real difference in education? Teaching Personnel is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with additional needs in a specialist school based in Budleigh Salterton, East Devon.
The school caters for pupils aged 3–19 with a range of complex learning difficulties, including:
* Severe and moderate learning difficulties (SLD/MLD)
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Communication and interaction needs
* Sensory and physical needs
* Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges
The setting provides a nurturing, inclusive and creative environment where every learner is encouraged to reach their potential through personalised learning, therapeutic support, and practical experiences.
Role Responsibilities
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
* Implement individual education and behaviour plans (IEPs/IBPs)
* Encourage communication, independence, and confidence in learners
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Passionate about supporting children with SEND
* Patient, empathetic, and resilient
* Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Experienced in (or eager to learn about) working with children with additional needs
* Reliable, flexible, and committed to helping every learner succeed
Experience in a SEND or care environment is desirable but not essential – full training and ongoing support are provided through Teaching Personnel.
