JOB PURPOSE:
To work with students, parents/carers and colleagues across the Academy to continuously improve school attendance at all key stages, ensuring accurate reporting and data management and working within the pastoral team to intervene and support students and families to attend school.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
* To be responsible for the administration of pupils late to school, recording lateness data on the school data system (Bromcom) and producing reports of daily figures.
* Check that electronic and paper registers have been entered and proactively follow up missing registers with individual members of staff
* Monitor trends in late, incomplete, or inaccurate registers, analyse underlying causes, and work with the leadership team to implement improvements.
* Check pupil absence and follow up using agreed systems, check on children at risk of truanting, initiate and carry out periodic truancy checks.
* Be available to staff and parents for meetings about individual pupils, provide regular updates and data as requested.
* Support the reintegration of students returning after prolonged or significant absence.
* Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure absence patterns are appropriately risk assessed.
* Monitor attendance of vulnerable groups, including pupils with SEND, safeguarding concerns, pupil premium, and looked-after children.
