Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic nursing team in Gynaecology Outpatients as a Urogynaecology Specialist Nurse. The successful candidate will be welcomed into a supportive environment, with guidance from experienced medical, nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues, and will be responsible for delivering evidence‑based, personalised care while developing their skills in this specialist field.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, values meaningful patient relationships, and wants to develop specialist skills within a forward‑thinking, supportive team.
Key responsibilities
* Running nurse‑led clinics such as pessary management, bladder retraining, catheter care, self catheterisation and pelvic floor education.
* Providing specialist assessment and advice, supporting women to understand their condition and make informed choices about their care.
* Supporting diagnostic and treatment pathways, and developing own skills to undertake urodynamics, botulinum toxin, conservative management and post‑operative follow‑up.
* Managing your own caseload, ensuring safe, effective and timely care.
* Working closely with consultants, physiotherapists and wider MDT colleagues to deliver seamless, evidence‑based care.
* Contributing to service development, quality improvement and audit to help shape a modern, responsive urogynaecology service.
* Offering education and support to patients, families and colleagues, helping to raise awareness of pelvic health across the organisation.
