Summary
This post is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to take on a senior role within the Obstetric and Gynaecology Department at UHCW NHS Trust. The post holder will work in collaboration with clinical colleagues to deliver a comprehensive Gynaecology service to patients in the Coventry and Warwickshire communities. The post holder will join a high performing team at a Centre which provides regional care across Obstetric, Gynaecological and Neonatal pathways. The department is heavily grounded in research and best practice with close links to the Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research and a fully integrated Centre for Reproductive Medicine.
The post holder will be based at the University Hospital, Coventry with outpatient clinic commitments at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby and community support sites. There is involvement in the administration and management functions of the Trust. Scheduling of clinical sessions may change as part of job planning, and the job description will be revisited with the Clinical Director and Group Director of Operations after the successful candidate has been in post for 6 months. There is the opportunity to participate in the UHCW Improvement (UHCWi) System in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute in Seattle, focusing on lean management and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive Gynaecology services within the Obstetric and Gynaecology Department.
* Collaborate with clinical colleagues and contribute to regional care pathways across obstetric, gynaecological and neonatal services.
* Engage in administration and management functions as required by the Trust.
* Attend and participate in job planning and yearly reviews with the Clinical Director and Group Director of Operations.
* Support and participate in research and best practice activities, with links to the Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research and the Centre for Reproductive Medicine.
* Participate in outpatient clinics at designated sites and provide community-based support as applicable.
Requirements / Development
* Experience in Obstetric and Gynaecology, with seniority appropriate to Consultant level.
* Willingness to engage in training and development opportunities (e.g., Lean for Leaders, Advanced Lean Training, Human Factors Programme). Full attendance and completion of identified courses is considered essential for this post.
