Our client delivers complex, grid-connected energy infrastructure projects across the UK, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated HV / substation works.
They are seeking a Senior Project Delivery Manager to take end-to-end responsibility for the safe, compliant and successful delivery of projects from detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover into operations.
This is a senior role with real delivery accountability, working across multiple live projects within a technically demanding utilities / power environment.
The role is primarily office-based with regular engagement at site during key delivery phases.
Desire
In this role, you’ll act as the senior delivery lead across a portfolio of energy infrastructure projects, including:
* Owning programme, cost, quality, safety and risk across projects
* Leading delivery from detailed design through construction and commissioning
* Managing contractors and consultants under NEC4 contracts
* Ensuring strong governance, reporting and control throughout delivery
* Acting as the key interface between internal stakeholders and external partners, including DNOs, National Grid and ICP contractors
* Driving projects through to operational handover with confidence and clarity
This role suits experienced delivery leaders who enjoy owning outcomes, making informed decisions and being close to delivery — not managing from a distance.
The background that fits
You don’t need to tick every box, but this role will suit you if you have:
* Proven experience delivering grid-connected infrastructure, utilities or energy projects (e.g. BESS, substations, HV / EHV or power projects)
* Strong understanding of contract management, ideally NEC4 within utilities or infrastructure environments
* Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, external contractors and utility stakeholders (DNOs / National Grid / ICPs)
* A sound appreciation of health, safety and regulatory compliance in high-risk construction or energy environments
* A practical, delivery-focused mindset with the confidence to lead under pressure
* Experience within energy, power, renewables or utilities is strongly preferred
Salary
£80,000 - £100,000
