Are you a skilled Science Technician with laboratory experience? Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a well-established secondary school in Oldham to appoint a reliable and knowledgeable Science Technician starting this September.
This is a full-time, term-time only position, paying £100 per day, and will suit a candidate with a solid background in laboratory work, ideally within a school or scientific setting.
About the Role:
As a key member of the Science Department, you will be responsible for supporting practical science education across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your duties will include:
* Preparing and setting up lab equipment and materials for practical lessons.
* Supporting science staff during experiments and demonstrations.
* Ensuring all science labs and prep areas are safe, clean and well-maintained.
* Handling, storing and disposing of chemicals safely in line with regulations.
* Managing stock levels and ordering consumables and equipment when needed.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have prior laboratory experience (this is essential for this role).
* Be familiar with safe lab practices and health and safety protocols.
* Be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Be a team player with a proactive and flexible attitude.
Please note: Only applicants with previous laboratory experience will be considered for this position.
