Join Close Brothers Motor Finance Team where you will also be working closely with the FP&A team, newly established Finance Change team and the operational teams who are responsible for managing payments in and out of the business.
The role offers a broad range of activities including financial control, accounting and reporting activities including monthly journal preparation and review, balance sheet reconciliation, regulatory reporting, interim and annual reporting to the group finance function, statutory reporting, supporting the external audit process and monthly loan book funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Complete monthly, quarterly, interim and year end reporting for a Motor Finance division
* Own Regulatory reporting including challenging assumptions, verifying data sources and interpretation of new reporting requirements from the Bank of England and the PRA. These include FSA’s, BOE returns, FINREP, LCR, COREP and internal / external audits on returns
* Conduct preparation, reviews and sign-off of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Provide tight financial control over the Balance Sheet, while mitigating risks to the P&L
* Jointly own the audit processes with the Financial Controller, (internal and external / statutory and regulatory) ensuring an accurate, efficient and clean audit
* Drive and manage continuous improvement across the business and Bank Financial Control including use of and implementation of Alteryx
* Prepare Statutory Accounts for the businesses within the Motor division
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong financial accounting experience including overseeing the month end process
* Confident when dealing with senior stakeholders in the business
* The ability to manage / manipulate large volumes of data
* Very strong Excel skills
* Proven excellent organisational skills
* The ability to work productively with people at all levels in the organisation
* The ability to pick up new skills and tasks quickly
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
* Experience of improving processes in large organisations
* Experience within the Financial Services sector, specifically around preparation of Regulatory Returns
* Effective influencing skills
* SAP knowledge
