Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting independence, dignity, and well-being among clients. Experience in complex care, PEG, and Oxygen care is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver personalised patient care, supporting daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
* Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols
* Provide specialised care for individuals with brain damage, Cerebral Palsy, PEG feeding needs
* Support with meal preparation and feeding as required
* Manage behaviour effectively and implement behaviour management strategies
* Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
* Drive* clients to appointments or outings when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
* Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when needed
* Support children or elderly clients with their specific needs in a caring manner
* Assisting clients with mobility or transfers
Requirements:

* Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, home care, or hospice care is preferred
* Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and senior care practices
* Certification in first aid and medication administration is desirable
* *Valid driving licence and clean driving record preferred for driving responsibilities
* Ability to perform lifting safely and effectively (with assistance)
* Strong communication skills, admin skills, and compassionate demeanour
* Flexibility to work various shifts including days and evenings as required
* Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
