Offer description

Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the Southwest offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and other problems. We aim to inspire hope and deliver change for everybody and every community we work with. Hours: 37 hours per week. Shifts will be worked over 6 evenings per week on a varied 7-day rota from 4.00 pm to midnight, which includes a 30-minute scheduled break. Do you want to work for a forward-thinking organisation, helping people in mental health and emotional crisis? Do you have compassion and empathy for people who are struggling with their mental well-being? If so, you could be the person we are looking for. About the Service The Bristol Sanctuary service offers short-term support to clients. This service focuses on supporting episodes of emotional distress rather than providing ongoing support interventions. The service offers support interventions, including the discussion of self-management tools and the creation of Wellness Action Plans. The Second Step Team also offers clients support with managing suicidal ideation, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, low mood, social isolation, and sleep hygiene. We can offer additional support and signposting for issues such as housing, debt, health problems, drugs and alcohol use, substance misuse and unemployment. About You You will be working alongside your peer Recovery Navigators and Case Workers, providing support to clients via the telephone, virtually, and in person. You’ll have experience of working with people with mental health and complex needs, carrying out needs and risk assessments. You will need to take a holistic view, with a recovery and psychologically informed approach. You will have good organisational skills, be IT proficient and be able to complete client records within specific timeframes. You will have proven skills in managing risk and escalating referrals for clients who may require additional specialist support. We welcome applications from Experts by Experience and from underrepresented groups. Second Step offers an excellent annual leave package, support from our Employee Assistance Programme if needed, and a comprehensive induction programme with ongoing training opportunities. So…if you think this describes you, what are you waiting for? Why not apply now? Interviews will be held online on Friday, 17th July, between 10 am and 3pm For an informal discussion about the role, please contact
