HR Manager – Yorkshire
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our growing housebuilding business in Yorkshire. This is a unique opportunity to be the first in-house HR professional, with the freedom to design, build and shape the HR function as the business scales.
Initially, you will be responsible for leading on all aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, policies, and people development. A key focus will be supporting the executive team and board in embedding our culture, values and high-performance standards across the business.
As we expand, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop a dedicated HR team, with a clear pathway to HR Director.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and lead the in-house HR function, setting up policies, processes and best practice.
* Partner with the executive team and board to drive culture, values and employee engagement.
* Lead recruitment and talent acquisition to attract and retain the best people.
* Provide HR advice and support across the business, ensuring compliance with legislation.
* Develop and implement strategies for learning, development and succession planning.
* Build and lead an HR team as the business grows.
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven HR management experience, ideally within construction, property, or a related sector.
* Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
* Strategic thinker with hands-on capability.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Ambitious, adaptable and excited by the opportunity to build a function from the ground up.
