Our current focus is to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and translate those insights into novel drug candidates.
About the Role
We are looking for a Research Assistant to support our high-throughput cell-based screening team. Based in our Oxford laboratory, you will contribute to the generation of high-quality biological data that drives our discovery platform. The successful candidate will be involved in assay execution, cell line maintenance, and experimental optimisation. This is a hands-on laboratory role ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in cell biology and assay development, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup research environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Help identify novel cancer drug candidates by optimising and performing anin vitrohigh-throughput drug screening
* Maintain and culture a variety of human cell lines under sterile conditions
* Prepare necessary materials for the assay including reagents and media
* Ensure assay quality and reproducibility through good lab practices (e.g. precise pipetting)
* Record, analyse, and report experimental data accurately
* Adhere to lab protocols and help maintain an organised, efficient workspace
* Support continuous improvement of screening workflows and documentation
Qualifications
* BSc (or higher) in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field
* Minimum 1 year of hands-on lab experience (academic or industry)
* Strong skills in mammalian cell culture and sterile technique
* High attention to detail, especially in pipetting and assay reproducibility
* Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently and collaboratively
