Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor specialising in infrastructure and water sector projects, is currently looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Glasgow. Key Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor: Act as a key commercial point of contact for specialist subcontractors and project stakeholders. Provide guidance and support on contractual and commercial matters throughout project delivery. Ensure contracts are administered in line with company procedures and commercial objectives. Assist in protecting the companys commercial position through effective contract management and risk mitigation. Provide regular updates to senior commercial leadership regarding subcontractor performance and project commercial status. Support the pricing, assessment, and negotiation of project variations and compensation events across multiple work scopes. Monitor and manage project costs to ensure expenditure remains within approved budgets. Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports, valuations, and financial forecasts. Support procurement and subcontract package management activities, including tender reviews and contract administration. Carry out quantity measurement and valuation of completed works. Prepare projected final account reports, including tracking the status of variations and commercial changes in collaboration with project teams. Contribute to work-in-progress reporting and financial performance reviews. Assist in managing allocated commercial resources and ensuring value-driven project delivery. Ensure compliance with internal policies relating to health & safety, sustainability, equality, environmental standards, and data protection requirements. Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline. Proven experience operating as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction or infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge and practical experience working with NEC contracts, particularly NEC3 and NEC4 Option C. Effective negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with excellent attention to detail. Confident preparing and presenting commercial information to a range of stakeholders. Good organisational and time management skills. Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
