A vacancy has arisen for a FS (Any Profession) to serve as FS CO-ORD at SOUTHERN ENGLAND & WALES RESERVE SUPPORT WING, RAF BRIZE NORTON on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 06 April 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). The Flight Sergeant Co-Ord SE&W RSW is the team lynch pin, supervising and providing the enabling capabilities to permit the team to undertake exemplary Phase 1 training (trg), focused attract and recruitment activity and associated support all at the right time, right place and to target. Reporting to the XO SE&W RSW, the post is based at RAF Brize Norton with remote hybrid working options available (subject to agreement at interview). Please note to enable the support of trg, engagement and recruiting activity, the role requires occasional travel with associated overnight stays and weekend working. As a member of the SE&W RSW team, the responsibilities of the successful applicant may include some or all of the following: - Ensuring the execution of the SE&W RSW’s mission by overseeing the planning, organising, and execution of all Wg operational pillars ensuring coherence between the Wg recruiting and trg programmes. - Ensuring the correct compilation of Recruit training records and Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) documentation (Quality Improvement Plan, Training Manual, Supervisory Care Directive etc). - In conjunction with the SE&W RSW CofC ensure and oversee the development and maintenance of a Wg Management of Trg System (MTS). Ensure trg is safe, effective, represents value for money, and is delivered in full compliance with JSP 822: Defence Direction & Guidance for Training & Education. - Overseeing the administration and preparation for Third Party OFSTED Inspections, including the provision of adequate safeguarding of trainees in accordance with JSP 822 and AP 3379, Lft 1290 - OFSTED Care & Welfare Policy. - Managing Wg Trg Assurance Activity/and or Inspection requirements. In accordance with AP 3379, Lft 1220 - RAF Trg Evaluation Policy ensure that: - Internal Validation (InVal) and First Party Trg Audits (1PTA) are conducted with completed reports, non-conformities, and observations are managed through the Wg Quality Improvement / Action Plan. - 22 Gp Assurance Wg (AW) Second Party Trg Audits (2PTA) are supported including the hosting of pre-audit Scoping Visits, management of the Audit Visit and the implementation of follow up actions. - AW are assisted by facilitating completion of External Validation (EV) questionnaires by Wg reservists and line managers/IC Pillars. - Utilise any funding streams available such as RFCA, to supplement the trg/recruiting budget providing reports and returns on expenditure. - Supervising all staff engaged in recruiting, trg and Logs, ensuring personnel are appropriately qualified to deliver effect. Management of staff records and currency of qualifications, ensuring trg packages, recruitment and all Wg policy documents and procedures are reviewed on a bi-annual basis and in line with current legislation. - Ensuring the safety of all Wg personnel, candidates, recruits, trainees, and visitors whilst they are within the Wg lines. Including H&S briefs, notice broads, signage, and adherence to fire safety policy. - In conjunction with CofC, oversee the discipline, performance, and welfare of SE&W RSW personnel and the promulgation of Wg orders. - When required, attending shows and activities in the local area when the Wg is providing a display and promoting the benefits of Reserve membership at these events. - Visiting external organisations and delivering presentations on the Reserve for both recruiting and PR purposes. - Ensuring the SE&W RSWs procedural processes from recruitment to Phase 2 handover are adhered to. - Coordination and planning of SE&W RSW visit and inspections. - Line Manager for OR SE&W RSW personnel.
