Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join a busy engineering/manufacturing team on nightshift. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CNC lathes to produce high-quality components. No programming is required - the successful candidate will be confident in setting and operating machines to pre-set programs.
Responsibilities
* Operate CNC lathes in line with established programs and specifications
* Carry out machine setting, tooling changes, and adjustments as required
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
* Inspect finished components using measuring equipment (e.g., verniers, micrometers, gauges)
* Maintain quality standards by conducting in-process checks
* Ensure machines are operated safely and in line with company health & safety procedures
* Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organised
Qualifications
* Previous experience operating CNC lathes (setting and operating, no programming required)
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality
* Good understanding of precision measuring equipment
* Flexible and reliable approach to work
* Willingness to work shifts/overtime if required
Pay & Shifts
* £12.49 plus shift allowance = £16.24 on nights
* 38 hours per week
* Monday to Thursday
