Our client has a Contract opportunity for a Safety Case Engineer
Location - Glasgow
Candidates MUST be UK National and able to obtain full SC.
About the role:
Working within the Defence and Security business as part of Jacobs Energy Technology and Security division, you will be involved in planning, managing, and delivering programmes of work to support nuclear safety critical infrastructure, throughout the UK in a multidiscipline environment.
The Defence & Security business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, design and engineering support, along with delivery of challenging Defence projects, to major clients in the UK at a variety of Sites across the nuclear and defence industries, including HMNB Clyde, HMNB Devonport, BAES Barrow and AWE Aldermaston. Our fantastic team holds a wealth of experience and expertise in the design and substantiation of safety related structures, systems and equipment.
Experience required:
1. Taking a lead role in the development of the appropriate and proportionate safety case including Nuclear, Product, Construction, Process and HSE
2. Ensuring technical quality and excellence of your work
3. Regular communication with clients and other design team members and participation in Design Reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs, SHERAs and stakeholder meetings
4. Contributing to the development of designs for complex facilities, systems and equipment
5. Adherence and contribution to business and quality management systems
6. Operational and design safety, and developing good safety culture
Qualifications - External
7. An understanding of the principles of safety as applied on both military and civilian applications
8. Working knowledge of key legislation, standards and regulatory requirements
9. Experience in delivering safety case documentation
10. Ability to produce safety case documentation to a high standard
11. Ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with clients and other design team members.
