Job Responsibilities and Expectations
1. Report to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the Chief Executive, contributing to the Trust's statutory and mandatory duties, strategic direction, and quality improvement initiatives.
2. Deliver high-quality care within available resources, collaborating with divisional and corporate leads.
3. Support the development of a medical leadership framework, including a competency framework for succession planning.
4. Drive continuous improvement and innovation by assessing national and regional initiatives, technological developments, and research to ensure safe and effective care.
5. Provide clinical leadership for quality improvement projects within the Trust and the wider health community.
6. Coordinate patient safety projects and monitoring systems, ensuring compliance with governance arrangements endorsed by the Executive Directors.
7. Review and monitor the impact of patient safety initiatives.
8. Represent UHDB at system meetings, supporting the CMO, and manage several strategic workstreams across divisions.
9. Assume the role of Deputy Responsible Officer for Medical and Dental employees, managing professional conduct in line with guidance.
10. Advise on governance issues, including clinical risk management, incident reporting, professional performance, and research and development.
