Overview
We’re looking to recruit a caring and empathetic Support Worker to work in our home in Uckfield. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided. This role involves supporting a 17-year-old autistic young man with associated learning difficulties and global delays. He uses an ACC device for communication, and your responsibilities will include aiding him with communication, independence skills, functional skills, occupational therapy for self-regulation, and personal care. Once fully trained, you will also assist him in engaging with the community and participating in enjoyable activities. As part of our home-based Support Worker team, which includes family members and other support workers, you’ll be part of the fulfilling social care field.

Additional requirements
* Non-smoker preferred or willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes
If successful, you will be engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on suitability and agreement with the employer. If employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Hours and Pay
* Two positions available:
o Position 1: 8 hours per week (Four days a week; two weekend days; times: 7:30am – 9:30am). Specific days to be confirmed at interview.
o Position 2: 15 hours per week (3 weekday evenings; 16:00 – 21:00). Specific days to be confirmed at interview.
* Hourly pay rate: £12.21
