The Accounts Assistant role is to provide a competent, effective, and timely accounting function. Must be pro-active, organised, accurate, and efficient to successfully support the business.
Key responsibilities include processing the Purchase Ledger monthly within set deadlines, ensuring all information and records are up to date, and supporting the Accounts Office Manager with accounting compliance and the preparation of Management Accounts as required. Flexibility to take on additional tasks as requested by senior management is expected.
Qualifications and skills:
* AAT Level 3 or 4 qualification highly desirable; QBE considered with relevant experience.
* Highly motivated with the ability to adapt positively to change.
* Attention to detail and good communication skills, both face-to-face and via telephone.
* Good listening and questioning skills when given instructions.
* Calm, professional demeanor and ability to work on own initiative.
* Excellent organisation, time management, and planning skills.
* Computer literate, experienced with ERP Systems and Microsoft Excel.
Key duties include:
* Managing purchase and sales ledgers.
* Daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
* Preparation of cash flow forecasts.
* Checking and balancing HMRC VAT certification documents.
* Ordering and returning goods as required.
* Covering for holidays and absences of team members.
* Handling email inquiries, research, and reporting.
* Managing incoming and outgoing post.
* Checking production and error reports.
* Conducting raw material and finished goods stock takes.
