Head of Community Job ref: ST 12911 | Job type: Permanent Location: Signal Centre, Bangor | Salary: PO11, SCP 55 - 58, £68,637- £72,260 per annum Quantity of Posts Available: 1 Closing date: Friday 27 Mar 2026 16:00 Job summary The Head of Community will provide dynamic and innovative leadership to drive the strategic direction and delivery of Community Services. Working in line with the Councils Corporate Plan, the postholder will shape and implement service strategies, advise senior leaders on policy and service development, and lead a diverse portfolio that includes community development, externally funded programmes, and community facilities. This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering high-performing, customer-focused services; fostering strong internal and external partnerships; ensuring effective governance and resource management; and championing continuous improvement. The Head of Community will also play an active corporate leadership rolecontributing to organisational development, community planning, and cross-departmental initiatives that support the Councils strategic objectives. Please Note: Assessment Centre will be held week commencing 13 April 2026 and Interviews will be held on 1 May 2026. This is a permanent, full-time post, working 36 hours per week. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. A reserve list may be kept from this recruitment exercise. This role is primarily based at the Signal Centre, Bangor, with the requirement to work across other Council buildings as needed. The postholder will also have the opportunity to work agilely, in line with Council policy and servic needs. All correspondence in relation to the job vacancy will be completed by email and phone.
